The Existence of Islamic Education Management in Facing the Opportunities and Challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0

Abstract

The research determined the existence of Islamic education management’s role in facing the opportunities and challenges of the industrial revolution 4.0. The type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The research objective was MTsN 1 Makassar City. Data analysis is carried out through recording, compiling, processing, and interpreting data, as well as connecting the meaning of existing data in relation to the research problem. The findings of this research indicate that MTsN 1 Makassar City has been faced with developments in information and communication technology that require stakeholder professionalism in making visionary policies and managing madrasas in an innovative and adaptive manner. They are able to participate in the digitalization program promoted by the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia for the advancement of Indonesian Islamic education. so that all madrasa administration is now conducted digitally. In facing the challenges of industrial revolution 4.0, we are preparing a more innovative learning system to produce competitive and skilled graduates, especially in the areas of data literacy, technological literacy and human literacy, through teaching and learning processes to produce superior graduates. The novelty of this research is that previous researchers have used quantitative research by adding several variables to be studied, but the current researcher uses a qualitative focus method to examine the existence of Islamic education management and to relate existing data in relation to the research problem.
